New heat-and-serve barbecued meats bring the thrill without the grill to Sweet Baby Ray’s® fans
With the introduction of fully cooked, heat-and-serve barbecued meats, Sweet Baby Ray’s® sauce fans can now experience the thrill without the grill 365 days a year.

SHAWNEE MISSION, KAN. (March 31, 2009) — With the introduction of fully cooked, heat-and-serve barbecued meats, Sweet Baby Ray’s® sauce fans can now experience the thrill without the grill 365 days a year. The new products include heat-and-serve pork loin backribs, St. Louis Style pork spareribs, pork tenderloins and shredded pork covered with Sweet Baby Ray’s® Original Sauce.

As the second largest selling retail barbecue sauce in the United States, Sweet Baby Ray’s® partnered with PrairieFresh® Premium Pork — a product of Seaboard Foods — to create the heat-and-serve pork items. Seaboard Foods, a premium producer of pork, sells and distributes the products to retailers.

Sweet Baby Ray’s® consumers are fanatics about this sweet and tangy sauce that brings out the best in any cut of meat. Unfortunately, for many Sweet Baby Ray’s® enthusiasts inclement weather or a shortage of time doesn’t always make it ideal for grilling. Because of that, Sweet Baby Ray’s® decided to give their adoring fans more options by offering fully cooked meats when they can’t grill outside or when they just need their Sweet Baby Ray’s® barbecue right now.

“Retailers can give the most loyal people on the planet—Sweet Baby Ray’s® fans—another reason to shop at their stores when they carry Barbecued Meats featuring Sweet Baby Ray’s® original sauce,” says Tom Blumhardt, vice president of marketing for Seaboard Foods. “Sweet Baby Ray’s® fans eat, sleep and breathe this sauce. Imagine how they’ll react when they learn they can get their fix when they come home late from work just by opening the refrigerator door.”

Retailers can contact Seaboard Foods for more information about stocking these items by sending an email to info@SweetBabyRaysMeats.com or calling 1-800-262-7907. For product information, visit www.SweetBabyRays.com.

About Sweet Baby Ray’s® Gourmet Sauces
In 1985, Chef Larry Raymond perfected the family’s recipe and entered the sweet and tangy barbecue sauce into the country’s largest rib cook-off. He named the sauce after the nickname his brother got while playing basketball on Chicago’s West Side — “Sweet Baby Ray.” The sauce was so fine; the taste beat out nearly 700 entries in the rib-off. Within one year, Sweet Baby Ray and Chef Larry, along with a high school friend, Mike O’Brien, formed a company around the award-winning sauce and their simple philosophy about barbecue: “The Sauce is the Boss.®” For more information, visit http://www.SweetBabyRays.com.
