Guymon, Okla. — Seaboard Foods earned a Certificate of Recognition from the Meat Institute as part of its 2025 Worker Safety Recognition Awards, reflecting the company’s continued focus on safety performance and prevention‑focused practices across operations.
The award was announced during the Meat Institute’s Environmental, Labor and Safety+ Conference held April 21 in Houston, where meat and poultry companies from across the country were recognized for safety performance achieved during the 2025 calendar year.
Seaboard Foods’ Guymon, Okla., pork processing plant was recognized for sustained efforts to reduce workplace injuries, strengthen safety systems and engage employees at every level in prevention-focused practices. The Certificate of Recognition is awarded to facilities that meet established safety performance benchmarks through an independent evaluation conducted by the National Safety Council. Award recipients are evaluated using Occupational Safety and Health Administration data, including Total Recordable Case and DART rates, along with an assessment of safety and health program effectiveness.
“At Seaboard Foods, safety is not just a metric — it’s a responsibility we take seriously every day,” said Grae Griffin, vice president of human resources at Seaboard Foods. “This recognition reflects the commitment of our Guymon plant employees and leaders who work together to create an environment where people look out for one another and work diligently to make a safe workplace.”
Griffin said employee support and engagement play a critical role in safety outcomes.
“Our approach focuses on training, engagement and leadership accountability so safety becomes part of every decision,” Griffin said. “When employees feel valued, supported and equipped to do their jobs safely, it strengthens our culture and our shared focus on preventing injuries.”
Seaboard Foods’ 2025 recognition builds on the company’s strong safety foundation, including previous honors from the Meat Institute for safety performance.
